Sewing

I spent a good deal of time on Craig’s List looking for the perfect sewing machine. I ended up with a circa 1964 Singer model 237 and I could not be more satisfied with my purchase. This cast iron machine weighs more than my son and has a beautiful stitch. I first learned to sew on my mothers sewing machine when I was a wee lad. I remember enough to thread the machine and that’s about it so it may be some time before I produce a decent item.

At this time I am using my sewing machine to do some general mending; however, I have my first pattern and if it goes well enough, I may post a pic. My end goal is to be proficient enough to sew a quilt top. I suspect that the actual quilting will need to be done by another machine.
